...Just a reminder--as if we needed one today--that we are at war, and we need to defeat this enemy.

May God bless those who foiled the plot to kill thousands; may God be with those who continue to fight the war, on all fronts. May God convert the hearts and save the souls of those who seek evil.

May Christ be our light, and in us, the Light to the world.

Hey, victor:

What do ALL of the suspects arrested in connection with this latest plot to kill scores of innocent people all have in common? I'll give you a hint: it's not that they were 83-year-old grandmothers flying to visit their grandchildren.

If only we had succumbed to the "evils" of racial profile on the morning of September 11, 2001.

Mike M,

Here's another hint:

Go find a dictionary and look up the words "satire" and "sarcasm".

Another clue can be obtained by actually reading the link that Victor posted.

Sorry, victor. I didn't read the story you linked before posting, I had just assumed it was another story against racial profiling at airports -- I had already seen several crop up following the most recent terror plot. It blows my ind that there are people out there that are actually making this argument in today's world.

As I read Fathers post and the comments several thoughts came to mind. First was the discussion of racial profiling. I think what you really want is religious profiling, but how many races would that include? Certainly Pakistani, Egyptian, Indian, Afganistani, Persian, many Africans, and a lot more that I can't think of right now. Is this really effective? Or is it wishful thinking? And given the fact that a number of people (like Ted Kennedy) have been placed on the no-fly list, I am not sure that I would believe that it would really help.

Anyother thought went through my mind concerning the "war on terror." More than one person has pointed out that the people we are fighting with were not, at least originally, associated with 9/11. Why haven't we managed to catch ben Ladin? I think that maybe too much of our resources are being put into fighting that really has little to do with the terrorists that we need to worry about.
