This, despite the fact that Ah live deep in Yankeeland...

Displaced Southerner
You are 72% true Southern!
You're pretty Southern, but something is keeping you from being a true Southern Belle or Gentleman. Maybe you've moved, or maybe your parents were Yankees and brought you up without ever taking you fishing or hunting or to Memaw's for chicken and black-eyed peas. You know your Southern facts and culture, but that literature still escapes you. And when you order tea at a restaurant, you expect it to come "unsweet." Yikes. Next time you have the chance, visit a classic Southern downtown area and spend an afternoon just soaking it in... Montgomery, Birmingham, Jackson, Natchez, Memphis, Charleston, Atlanta, or even New Orleans!

I scored as a Dixie Royal -- 84% True Southerner. That's kind of legit, since I have lots of family in the region and spent my childhood in rural Virginia.

However, I don't like my tea so sweetened that's it's practically syrup, which reduces my southern credibility.

Naw, thayt's not true, Mrs. Darwin-your way of drinking sweet tea is the East Tennessee way! If you are a Virginian, well, I'd reckon it would be somewhat similar.

I scored 60% kinda southener. I suppose that is correct because Melbourne Australia is in the south of Australia! lol

Fr.

I've been to Piqua and I've lived in the South (in small towns) - not a lot of different there!!

That may not be as surprising as you think, since Piqua is still part of Southwestern Ohio. A lot of families, particularly in Dayton, have Appalachian roots, including the Cornetts.

I hear about Cornetts all over this area, though I don't think I'm related to any of them. Many came from Kentucky, while my branch set roots in the Eastern part of the state.

I scored the same as Father. Must be those south of Poland roots.

Very cool genealogy and the south, all we need is a mint julip.

I managed an 87% (Dixie Royal), but that isn't surprising. I'm frequently asked (or commented on) by customers on the phone, "you're not from New Jersey." Even after not living in the South for over 15 years, my voice still gives me away.

I socre 34% which is no surprise since I'm a Yankee transplant here in the south. Been many places and we exepcted "y'all" when we got here, but did you know that "ya'll" is singular?! "ALL y'all" is the plural version of this!

And the sweet tea: it's good, but leaves FUZZ on my teeth. Being the Yanks we are, we have to dilute it with the "non-sweet" stuff.

And evidently, you can say anything about or to someone as long as you end or preface with a "Bless their heart!"

God Bless,
T
