We had double the hours of confessions last week, including Wednesday evening, morning and evening of Good Friday, and even on Holy Saturday.
We had five Masses this weekend, on top of the liturgies for Holy Thursday and Good Friday...
So--Father's tired! (And that's true everywhere!
The same is true of all our active volunteers in our parishes--somebody had to decorate church for Holy Thursday, then strip it, then re-decorate it for the Vigil! The office staff had to get the bulletin ready early, and do extra work for the holy days...The choir and music directors all ran themselves ragged...servers wore themselves out...
Everybody is tired...
So you rest, and let them rest, too.

As one of those aforementioned volunteers, I say, "Amen! Alleluia!" (sips from her well-earned glass of Chardonnay as the ham and spring potatoes roast . . .)
now crawl into bed and sleep for a week.

Yes, I did use the mold, it was easy; but poor lambie, his face was missing! (I wasn't the one turning out the mold, I suspect whoever did, did not run under hot water.)

Happy Easter. May God bless you for the many hours spent in the confessional and preparing for and celebrating the liturgies of Holy Week. I remembered to pray extra hard for a ll the priests I knew during Holy Week because. . . well, I knew they could probably use the divine assistance!
Confession over the Triduum. My parish never has it over the Triduum, "due to the Sacredness of the Triduum" Seeing it worded like that I thought it was some kind of rule, but maybe that is just my pastor.
...and on the eighth day, they rested.
Actually, the Church does stipulate that no sacraments, outside of Viaticum are to be celebrated during the Triduum.
Todd, I believe you are mistaken as regards the sacrament of penance. I don't recall what the rubrics say about the anointing, but I doubt it is forbidden at any time.
