Anon comments now enabled

Since almost no one comments, I decided to take a chance on allowing "anonymous" comments.

Here's the deal. If you post anonymously, still please sign some name. It doesn't have to be real; but it's helpful so that I or others can respond to you -- it helps sort out different "anonymouses."

If I start getting spammed with fake comments, I may have to stop this. But let's try.

And please comment when you read my posts, if only to say, "I was here!"

I'll start commenting, since I do read your blog fairly regularly.

Hey sorry I was busy. I will send out some more comments soon.

I do read regularly! but generally through an RSS reader at work, ahem, which seems justifiable, all things considered, but I don't comment from those computers. :-) I'm sorry I haven't seen you at Althouse lately.

Here I am! I'll see you Sunday!

Check your post daily but have never responded. Keep up the good work!

Marc Puckett:

You won't see me at Althouse anymore. Professor Althouse declared, some time back, that those who believe marriage is a man and a woman were bigots and advocated "oppression."

Marc in Eugene said...

Yes, yes, well, she is obviously wrong in that (as she is e.g. in re same sex 'marriage'). But there are plenty of people who I have to deal with daily who are just as wrong (on a variety of moral issues)... doubtless you've heard that sort of argument and so I'll not pursue it-- we all have limited free time to dispose of, choosing one's battles etc etc.

I would leave more comments, but I don't want to look like a loony stalker! lol

Your blog is wonderfully informative and inspiring. :)

"You won't see me at Althouse anymore."

Okay. But you're still on Blogger/Google, expressing the same fears and bigotry. So what difference does it make that we won't see you at that particular blog anymore — the Althouse blog?

Plus, your statement that "Althouse declared, some time back, that those who believe marriage is a man and a woman were bigots and advocated 'oppression'" is not true and you know it. Is it not a sin to bear false witness?

Meade:

You're not welcome here. Please leave.

Jennifer said...

Meade, I grew up in a sexually diverse family. It was not all rainbows and parades. You have your opinion, but Father Fox has the right to his, too. And the Church is not bigoted. It is true.

Meade said...

Jennifer, you are correct that Father Fox has the right to his opinions. He also has a right to express his opinions. What he does not have is a right to lie about what others have "declared" or not "declared".

He should correct his statement that "Althouse declared, some time back, that those who believe marriage is a man and a woman were bigots and advocated 'oppression.'"

Meade:

I've asked you politely to leave. You've refused. So you will be removed. All future comments by you will be deleted.

Fr Martin Fox said...

As Meade heads out the door, I'll just explain my view on this.

Visiting my blog is akin to visiting my house; and when I visit someone else's, same deal.

I don't often show someone the door, but it happens, and we can all understand various reasons why. No need to go into it.

If someone has a question, feel free to ask. Otherwise, I expect that'll be the end of this unfortunate interruption.

Hey Meade,
Don't pick on little (younger) brother. He is of the best priests I know & I know plenty.
By the way Fr. You can use a pressure cooker too, mom did quite a lot of times. Take care, Eileen

Father: I follow you regularly. Should have commented before. I agree with the person who said to use a crock pot for the pot roast. Makes the meat SO tender and it is so nice to come home to a delicious dinner all ready to eat!

Fr Martin Fox said...

Rosanna:

Thanks! I have no objection to crock pots, except I don't happen to have one and I don't want another gadget. Who knows but in a few years, I may get bored with cooking things the old fashioned way, and go get one. But for now, it'd just be something taking up space on the counter.

Eileen:

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I do remember mom using a pressure cooker. I don't own one of those, either, but I did like the way things tasted from that!

Thank you, Father. I would have commented earlier, but I don't keep logged into google when I browse around, and it proved to be incredibly frustrating to get logged in and go through the captcha routine. This will be easier, I hope.

Love your blog and have commented some, but not every time I read it. I'll try to do better! You are an encouragement to us and we the reader should try to reciprocate. Blessings!

I read/follow you, Hollowell, and Zuhlsdorf regularly. It's like having three brothers to look up to. My life is richer for it.

I was here!! I am one of your parishioners with a small child...I reread the sermons almost weekly! I know a lot of us moms appreciate being able to go over what we may have missed out on while tending to our kiddos during mass. Thanks for all you do for those of us at St. Remy!!
