You Are Chinese Food

Exotic yet ordinary.
People think they've had enough of you, but they're back for more in an hour.

This is probably why most people worry about you - just a little - Father!!!

I just spent perhaps an hour trying to figure out: my inner European, what kind of bumper sticker I should have on my Volvo sedan and how liberal or conservative I am. I could have analyzed my taste in cookies, but Sundays coming. Fr. Martin, why do you think we Americans are so enamoured of personality quizzes? And if you were on a desert island and could only bring one item of cookware, would it be a wok or a crepe pan? :-)

Yes I must say Chinese food never really satisfies me, nor do I really regard it as exotic.

I was interested to read the account explaining your absence from the blogsphere which did garner much sympathy.

I had myself put it down to the Herculean task of coherently outlining the political philosophy that is “conservatism.” I cannot adequately describe my level of anticipation to see the summit of your work – to see this task finally done after multiple attempts and generations of earnest endeavour.

I am sure the sum of your efforts will not be a ‘once over lightly’ in the wok, but a substantial serving of the coherent philosophy that is conservatism. How delicious.
